"If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn't there. I never really lost it to begin with." - Noel Langley, The Wizard of Oz
Learn & Grow
There is an emerging understanding of the therapeutic benefits of gardening. It is known that soil microbes stimulate serotonin production which makes people relaxed and happy but gardens are also beneficial to our health and happiness in many other ways. At the Forsyth-Warren Farm you will find the Dr. Lizbeth Booth Library which is stocked with both novels and small-scale agricultural books. Visitors are welcome to visit the farm and enjoy any of these books in the company of the Farm's own plants and livestock. Also in this library are seeds to take home and enjoy, or to plant in one of the Farm's community gardens where they will provide enjoyment for the whole community. Many of these seeds come from native and heirloom plants that will be beautiful and beneficial to the environment at the same time. |
