A non-profit organization such as ours would not be possible without a wonderful and active group of volunteers. There are endless opportunities to volunteer at the Tavern. Here you can work in a pleasant rural setting, enjoying the fresh air, and getting a little taste of farm life. Our museum offers a variety of engaging tasks ranging in time commitment from an hour or two to those involving regular attendance and training. As a volunteer, you can gain knowledge and experience with public speaking, animal husbandry, heritage crafts, trade skills, folk art, agricultural history and much more.

Not really comfortable taking to public or being in costume? No problem. We need help behind the scenes too! For more information about volunteering email: [email protected]

Teaching

If you possess a heritage craft or skill, you can teach it.

Tour Guiding

Gardening

Weeding, planting, harvesting, and keeping our herbaceous exhibits healthy and happy.

Restoration

Help with repairs and building projects when they come up, repair fencing, et cetera.

Cleaning

Help clean up after special events or get the farm ready for spring, summer, and fall.

Animal Care

One of the best ways to help care for our animals is to provide them enriching company
but they also benefit from grooming and ensuring that their enclosures are clean and comfortable.
